Book Review: The Hardest Peace by Kara Tippetts
Life doesn’t always turn out how we had expected. There are twists, bends, mountains to climb and valleys to cross that we never anticipated or hoped for.
Yet, through all of it, no matter what hard I encounter in this journey of life, do I really believe that God is good in all of it? What if I had to anticipate the future of my family knowing that I may soon not be in it? Would I be angry? Would I still trust Him? Would I believe that the goodness of God would continue for my family once I was gone?
For Kara Tippets these questions were not theoretical – they were her reality. In the pages of this book, Kara expresses in beautiful transparency the emotional, physical, and spiritual battle she encountered with cancer.
She held back no emotion; no fear; no doubts; no feelings of longing for more time – more time with her husband, more time with her four small children, more time with all those she holds dear in this life.
She shared straight from the depths of her heart. My eyes were flooding in each chapter.
This was one of the most inspiring books I’ve ever read – yet also challenging. Kara’s story challenges us to approach and walk through the hard and unexpected seasons of life with the peace of knowing that God is and always will be good.
