Happy Resurrection Day!

Every day is easter, and every day is Christmas when you’re a Christian.

We think about Jesus and what He did on the cross for us every day.

And what did He do?

He reconciled us to Himself in Christ, not counting our sin against us.

2 Cor 5:18.

Not only that, He enacted what Joseph Prince calls the ‘divine exchange.’

He became us – crucifying our sin in His body – on the cross.

And we became Him. That is, we became holy, perfect and righteous.

Not because of anything we have done, but because of God’s great love for us.

As Tim Keller says, at the cross Jesus got what we deserved – suffering and death. And we got what Jesus deserved – glory and honor and majesty and a seat at God’s table.

This is what is meant by the glass of wine in the LORD’s supper.

When we drink the wine, we are remembering the blood of Jesus.

It should have been our blood on that cross.

But Christ took our punishment for us, which means one day we may drink of the fruit of the vine in Heaven with Him.

One day we will clink glasses with Jesus and thank Him for pouring out His blood.

Because of His blood we can enjoy the fruit of the vine with Jesus in eternity.

And of course, as John says, Jesus is the True Vine.

The Fruit of The Vine are the people we share Jesus with and who come to Christ through us.

One day we will enjoy the fruit of The Vine in Heaven for ever and ever.

We will enjoy all of our brothers and sisters. We will enjoy each other.

What a wonderful privilege to be a part of God’s amazing family.

How great is the love the Father has lavished on us that we should be called ‘children of God’ – and that is what we are!

– 1 John 3:1.

Amen!

I’m looking forward to getting deep into the scriptures and exploring the wonder of God’s amazing grace with you over the coming year.

See you soon!

And again, Happy Resurrection Day!

Steve.

Hey!

Hey there. I’m Steve Edwards. I’m an actor, a writer, a teacher and a preacher!

This site explores the meaning of St. Paul’s words ‘by grace we are saved’. I hope it helps you to understand that we are loved by God completely, purely, fully, regardless of our mistakes. He loves us not because of who we are, but because of who He is, and what He did for us on the cross. Amen!

Please explore the hundreds of articles on the different books of the bible, and how the bible reveals that our holiness is a gift from God, and doesn’t depend on us and our good works. Thank God for that!
