Is it just me or does life seem to be full of trials lately?
An incessant flow of circumstances that carry cause for fear and worry.
I’ve been doing a study of Philippians and am studying this verse this week.
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication
with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension,
will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
As I study this verse and look at other related scriptures, it’s easy to see that the trials of life are inevitable – yet in the midst of them we always have cause for peace.
Cast your burden upon the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken.
The steadfast of mind You will keep in perfect peace, because he trusts in You.
Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.
But now, thus says the Lord, your Creator, O Jacob, And He who formed you, O Israel, “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are Mine! “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched, Nor will the flame burn you.
5 Make sure that your character is free from the love of money, being content with what you have; for He Himself has said, “I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you,” 6 so that we confidently say, “The Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid. What will man do to me?”
Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time, 7 casting all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you.
~1 Peter 5:6-7
