17 Pearls of Wisdom for Wives

pearls of wisdom

The idea of a Christ-centered marriage is incredibly foreign in today’s culture. Here is a compilation of some great quotes and scriptures for wives to consider. I pray you are encouraged!

1. The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.” (Genesis 2:18)

2. God created marriage. No government subcommittee envisioned it. No social organization developed it. Marriage was conceived and born in the mind of God.”  – Max Lucado

3. The relationship between husband and wife should be one of closest friends – B.R Ambedkar

4. So I counsel younger widows to marry, to have children, to manage their homes and to give the enemy no opportunity for slander. (1 Timothy 5:14)

5. A great spouse loves you exactly as you are. An extraordinary spouse helps you grow; inspires you to do, be and give your very best.” -Fawn Weaver

6. Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. Then they can urge the younger women to love their husbands and children (Titus 2:3-4)

7. I pray that no matter what happens today I can be an encouragement to my husband. – UnveiledWife.com

8. Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ. Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything. (Ephesians 5:21-24)

9. You married the man you respect, now respect the man you married. – Matthew L Jacobson

10. Model the kind of marriage you want your kids to have. – JoleneEngle.com

11. Who can find a virtuous wife? For her worth is far above rubies. – (Proverbs 31:10)

12. Let’s serve others instead of demanding to be served. Let’s love our spouses instead of complaining that they don’t make us feel happy. Just take a few breaths and take inventory of your blessings. – Michelle Lindsey

13. In your anger do not sin: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, – (Ephesians 4:26)

14. All that God created is good, and physical intimacy is no exception. God created sex within marriage, and He created it as gift for us. – Jami Balmet

15. Jesus’ teaching in general [implies] that happy and fulfilling sexual relations in marriage depend on each partner aiming to give satisfaction to the other. If it is the joy of each to make the other happy, a hundred problems will be solved before they happen.” John Piper

16. A continual dripping on a very rainy day and a contentious woman are alike – (Proverbs 27:15)

17. The heart of her husband safely trusts her; So he will have no lack of gain. She does him good and not evil all the days of her life. – (Proverbs 31: 11-12)
