Jesus believes in you.

I pray also that you may know His incomparable great power for us who believe…

– Ephesians 1:19

Imagine if you were Jesus.

No, seriously!

Imagine if Jesus couldn’t make it that day. Imagine if something cosmic came up and it was down to you to go to the cross to save mankind. Could you do it?

Would you do it?

Would you be brave enough? To be whipped, tortured, and nailed to a cross? A crown of thorns twisted on your head? And left to die, an excruciating, shameful death?

Could you do it, if you knew by doing it you would save the world?

I know I couldn’t.

My guess is, unless you are oozing self-confidence and the ability to withstand extreme pain, that you are thinking: No, I couldn’t. Thank God for Jesus!

But do you know what? Jesus believes you could. Jesus believes if the task of saving the world landed on your shoulders, you would not turn away. You would do it.

Jesus absolutely believes in you. More than that, He knows you could do it.

He knows you could do it because He knows the power of the Holy Spirit that lives inside you.

He knows God would see to it that you had every ounce of strength you needed to get through that tremendous, agonizing challenge.

And if you could go to the cross, guess what, that means you can do anything else that is in front of you. Any other obstacles you are facing today, you can overcome. Is there an interview coming up? You can do it. Is there a difficult exam? You can pass it. Is there some ‘sin’ or addiction you have so far been unable to overcome? You can do it!

Jesus believes in you.

And if Jesus believes you could go to the cross in His place, He believes you can do anything with the Spirit of God living in you.

This is why Paul says

I can do everything through Christ who strengthens me.

Jesus wants you to believe in yourself the way He believes in you.

He longs for you to see yourself as He does: righteous, perfect and holy, a beloved Child of God, adorned with a robe of His righteousness and dearly loved. And capable, with His help, to accomplish anything set before you.

Amen!

Hey!

Hey there. I’m Steve Edwards. I’m an actor, a writer, a teacher and a preacher!

This site explores the meaning of St. Paul’s words ‘by grace we are saved’. I hope it helps you to understand that we are loved by God completely, purely, fully, regardless of our mistakes. He loves us not because of who we are, but because of who He is, and what He did for us on the cross. Amen!

Please explore the hundreds of articles on the different books of the bible, and how the bible reveals that our holiness is a gift from God, and doesn’t depend on us and our good works. Thank God for that!
