Let’s fix our eyes on Jesus.

This GRACE thing is so amazing it’s too good to be true!

No wonder so many Christians simply can’t get their head around it. No wonder so many are stressed, anxious, trying to overcome sin by themselves, trying to achieve righteousness themselves.

It’s just so out of the realm of our ability to understand, so out of our grasp, to accept that Jesus achieved everything for us, that there is nothing left for us to do, that we are righteous as a free gift, that God knew we couldn’t do it ourselves, so He did it for us.

Fact is, in Christ, even if we ‘sin’ in our own eyes, God doesn’t hold it against us. (Romans 4:8). Christ already paid the penalty for our sin on the cross. And not only for our sin, but for the sins of the whole world. John tries to explain:

Those who are in Christ do not continue to sin. They cannot sin, because they have been born of God.

(1 John 3:9)

Paul says we are not under the law of sin anymore, but rather under the law of the Spirit.

For the law of the Spirit of life has set me free from the law of sin and death.

(Romans 8:2)

We are free!

Jesus crucifixion was a ‘finished work.’ He completed the work. We have nothing to add to His work on the cross.

Whatever we do wrong in our own eyes, we may feel bad, we may suffer the consequences, we may pay a penalty – but God will never punish us.

God became a man and died in our place rather than punish us for our sin.

That is how much He loves us.

God will never be angry with us, ever again, because of Jesus.

Friends, when you do wrong, and you feel bad about yourself, remember that when God sees you He sees past all the dirt and muck and grime and sees you as He created you – perfect, holy and righteous.

So let’s fix our eyes on Jesus, and remember what we see when we Jesus, God sees when He sees us.

Oh amazing grace!

Hey!

Hey there. I’m Steve Edwards. I’m an actor, a writer, a teacher and a preacher!

This site explores the meaning of St. Paul’s words ‘by grace we are saved’. I hope it helps you to understand that we are loved by God completely, purely, fully, regardless of our mistakes. He loves us not because of who we are, but because of who He is, and what He did for us on the cross. Amen!

Please explore the hundreds of articles on the different books of the bible, and how the bible reveals that our holiness is a gift from God, and doesn’t depend on us and our good works. Thank God for that!
