“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
– Isaiah 41:10
Notice God doesn’t say ‘I will help you if you help yourself.’ That old saying is false. Nor does he say ‘Strengthen your self.’ He doesn’t say ‘uphold your self.’ In fact, He doesn’t ask us to do anything our self, but asks us to trust Him to do everything for us.
I will strenthen you.
I will uphold you.
And how will He do this?
With his righteous right hand.
NOT our righteous right hand.
HIS righteous right hand.
It is HIS righteousness that upholds us, not ours.
Not our own strength. Not our own help. His help, His strength, and His righteousness.
Stop trying to help yourself, or be strong yourself, and trust in His strength, His help, and His righteousness.
