Are we crucifying Jesus again and again?

We don’t actually need to confess our sin anymore. That is going back to the old system of the law. Jesus’ sacrifice cleansed us of all sin once for all. Believe it and be free. To confess everyday and keep asking for forgiveness is, as the writer of Hebrews says, treating the blood of the Son of God like the blood of bulls and goats, sacrificing him over and over again for continuous sin. But no:

‘Not with the blood of bulls and goats, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all.’

– Hebrews 9:12

Christ’s blood was precious. He wasn’t an animal, he was God Himself. His sacrifice eradicated sin once for all. We have been forgiven of all our sin. There is no more sacrifice for sin. And without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness. Do you think when we kneel in confession to God asking for forgiveness Christ goes back to the cross to shed his blood for us again and again? No! He shed His precious blood for us ONCE for ALL. Once we have faith in Him we are cleansed, holy and free…or as the writer to the Hebrews says – perfect forever.

Hey!

Hey there. I’m Steve Edwards. I’m an actor, a writer, a teacher and a preacher!

This site explores the meaning of St. Paul’s words ‘by grace we are saved’. I hope it helps you to understand that we are loved by God completely, purely, fully, regardless of our mistakes. He loves us not because of who we are, but because of who He is, and what He did for us on the cross. Amen!

Please explore the hundreds of articles on the different books of the bible, and how the bible reveals that our holiness is a gift from God, and doesn’t depend on us and our good works. Thank God for that!
