I don’t understand what I do!

I don’t understand what I do! What I want to do I don’t do and what I hate I do! I want to do what’s good but I just can’t seem to carry it out. For what I do isn’t the good I want to do – the evil I don’t want to do, this I keep on doing.

– Romans 7:15 – 20

You can hear Paul’s cry, the raging turmoil in his desire to be clean, to be healed, to be holy. Now if Paul, one of the greatest apostles to ever live and a Christian for more than 20 years when he wrote this letter, had this battled raging inside him why do we think we will be exempt ?! But what Paul is building up to in fact is that it’s not what we do or don’t do that saves us – it’s what Christ did for us.

Who will save me from this body of death? Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord!
